LIFE, LIBERTY, & THE PURSUIT OF GODLINESS - INTRODUCTION



Welcome to my new blog. I am in the process of writing my first non-fiction book, which I have titled Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Godliness. INTRODUCTION

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.[1]


These words, drafted by Thomas Jefferson between June 11 and June 28, 1776,[2] aptly summarize the intent of our forefathers in establishing the United States of America. They believed that their government was a threat to their God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and they had chosen to preserve their safety and happiness by establishing their own new government.

As they declared their Independence from the tyrannical oppression of Great Britain's aristocracy, these great Patriots -- our forefathers -- established the basis of what would become the greatest Nation to ever grace the face of the Earth. It would be One Nation, united and indivisible, bound together by the common principle that they were subject not to the whims of a King, but rather to the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God.

Above all, our forefathers valued life, liberty, safety, equality, and justice. These entitlements were constant, unalienable, and endowed by God Himself. The founders recognized, honored, and cherished these rights, and all the more their Almighty and Providential Benefactor.

Two centuries later, the inheritors of the Great Nation established upon these great principles have forgotten -- nay, forsaken -- the very foundation upon which it was built. We, the people of the United States of America, in order to further our own selfish ambitions, pervert Justice, tranquilize and disarm the populace, escape from common sense, promote Class Warfare, and rob the Blessings of Liberty from our Posterity, do twist and manipulate the Constitution of the United States of America.

America, the land I love, is under attack by an enemy from within. This enemy is a force, destructive of the ends delineated in the Founding Documents of our Nation, and must be faced with a resolve the likes of which inspired our forefathers to Revolution and, ultimately, Victory.

In this book, I will identify what I believe to be the greatest threat to the future of the United States of America, as well as the steps necessary to neutralize that threat. While I hold these truths to be self-evident, we are often blinded to them by the reasoning of the Day; but if we commit ourselves to break the bonds that bind us and return to the principles of our Nation's foundation, then the Truth shall truly make us free.
